Differentiated instruction is a crucial topic for all teachers, whether they are classroom teachers, subject teachers, teaching assistants, support teachers, or shadow teachers. It focuses on tailoring education, curriculum, planning methods, assessment techniques, explanation styles, and review of material to meet the individual needs of all students within the classroom. This course clarifies the concept of differentiated instruction and highlights the difference between differentiated instruction as a set of educational practices and strategies and differentiated instruction as an educational philosophy. The course also explains the areas covered by differentiated instruction in terms of planning for teaching and learning, preparing lessons, delivering lessons, measuring learning outcomes, and activities accompanying the teaching and learning process. Differentiated instruction is of utmost importance and is required by educational bodies of all kinds, whether in the field of general education or special education. All students in all schools and in all different educational systems need it. The course also addresses the factors affecting differentiated instruction, such as heredity, family environment, chronological age, gender, and level of mental processes. The course also discusses mechanisms for identifying individual differences among students, such as assignments and written and oral tests within the classroom, free and non-free discussions, talking with students outside the classroom, student school records, and various school activities.
